Standalone cookie consent management with banner layouts, consent categories, service blocking, iframe placeholders, scanner tools, and manual cookie documentation.

== Description ==

Mant Consent Manager provides a standalone consent banner and preferences modal for WordPress sites.

Free features include:

* Banner layouts and basic customization.
* Consent categories and frontend preference controls.
* Manual services with a Free active-service limit.
* Manual cookies with default WordPress functional cookies.
* Homepage scanner with limited results.
* Floating privacy button.
* Advanced manual script loading fallback.

Pro features include multilingual banner texts, advanced scanner features, consent record export, advanced customization, service-library workflows, and future automation features. License activation is handled from Mant Consent Manager -> License and connects to https://www.mantdesign.de.

== Privacy ==

The plugin stores visitor consent in the browser so the banner, modal, blocking, and loading behavior can work. Optional consent records are anonymized, disabled by default, and do not store IP addresses, names, email addresses, user IDs, or full user agent strings.

The scanner only runs after an administrator starts it from the WordPress admin area.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`.
2. Activate Mant Consent Manager in WordPress.
3. Open Mant Consent in the admin menu and configure the banner, services, cookies, and scanner.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does this plugin contact a remote service automatically? =

License activation, deactivation, and validation contact the Mant Design licensing server at https://www.mantdesign.de. WordPress.org builds use the native WordPress.org update system. Mant Store builds can enable the native WordPress update UI through the `MANT_CONSENT_UPDATE_CHANNEL` build constant without exposing license keys in public update URLs. The scanner only runs when an administrator starts a scan.

= Are consent records required? =

No. Consent records are optional, privacy-friendly, and intended for verification. They do not store IP addresses or personal data.

= Can the Free version still be used without Pro? =

Yes. The Free version includes the banner, modal, manual services, manual cookies, basic scanner, floating privacy button, and manual script fallback.
